Congratulations, Arnot-Roberts!

Life got a little-bit crazy over here, but I have a ton of great things to write up.

For now, I just wanted to give a quick CONGRATULATIONS via the interwebs to Duncan Arnot and Nathan Roberts of Arnot-Roberts

James Beard Foundation recently announced them as Semifinalists in the Wine & Spirits Professional Category.

In January, I was lucky enough to visit their winemaking facility in Healdsburg, CA. Duncan was doing business-y things, so Nathan walked us through such beatiful wines... A unique white blend from old vines, chardonnay, rose' made from Portuguese grapes, several syrah, and of course, some cabernet sauvignon. Wine after wine, I was blown away.

It is no wonder why they've been recognized for their accomplishments.

As if the day wasn't amazing enough already, they gave us a bottle of Trousseau as a birthday gift (which is one of my favorite wines of the trip). So nice. So, so, so nice.

It is always so wonderful when the nicest people make the best wine. (That was a common thread throughout our Napa/Sonoma trip... Everyone was so incredibly welcoming, kind, and just easy-going.)

Again, thanks for the very special memories....

Because that is really what wine is all about. Celebrating and just enjoying life's special moments. Cheers.

"Rooting" for you guys... Congratulations again!

Winners are announced March 18th (follow EATER.com for LIVE updates).
